We're Japanese leather backpack maker.

In Japan, we make children’s backpacks called randoserus and now we are introducing this “randoseru” style to adults.

KABANKO

Japanese randoseru backpack tradition started in 1887 and since 1957, Kabanko improves the quality and craftsmanship of the randoseru while upholding Japanese tradition. Japanese elementary school children use randoseru backpacks every day for 6 years. Even as children grow and develop in these 6 years, the backpack’s durability, reliability and comfort stays the same. These features are the inspiration for the Kabanko backpack.

Every bag is personally handmade by a craftsman with over 200 parts. We used this design and craftsmanship to create the Kabanko backpack for adults.

Message from the President

Through the ages, the innocent smiles of children have lit up the world with joy and put a smile on everyone`s faces. Our Randoseru has continued to make children smile for a long time.

After its creation in 1887, around 130 years ago, the Randoseru has been the tradition passed down from parent to child and is still practiced this day; it has even become embedded into Japanese culture.

Murase Kabanko has been involved in producing Randoseru for around 60 years since the establishment of its business. Everyday we continue to ask ourselves “how can we make build strong and lightly Randoseru for children?”.

The smiles and joy that our Randoseru has given children has encouraged us and has actually became one of the main driving forces in our manufacturing.

Our mission is to spread that smile to the world.

However, smiles are not only for children, but for adults as well. We all want to share those smiles. We also would like to apply the same technique cultivated from the Randoseru to other bags and handbags. Through various types of bags we aim to give a smile to people all over the world.
